Real Washington DC Wedding: J & A at DAR

This DAR wedding in Washington DC was a delight for many reasons: fun navy and teal color palette, great vendor team, and most importantly, great couple. Julia and Andrew were a referral from my past clients, Kate and Andrew. They had already booked DAR and we had such a great time planning the rest of their wedding together! We were so lucky that Lisa Boggs was still available to document their wedding day. Elegance & Simplicity created a beautiful chuppah and florals for us! We worked with the Dandelion Patch for their invitations and Carrie Ink for their wedding day paper goods. Main Event Caterers made the best first impression on guests with a hot cider and donut station open before the outdoor ceremony. We were able to dine in the Library, so AFR brought in great lounge furniture for the O’Byrne Gallery, where guests danced and dined on a sundae bar from Trickling Springs.  I love it when couples hold onto the traditions that are important to them (like the wedding chuppah) but then break with tradition so that their personal beliefs are represented (like Julia and Andrew’s uneven, mixed gender wedding party.)
